There is certainly enough Cairns nightlife in to keep you entertained after a day diving on the Great Barrier reef, walking through the rainforest or relaxing by the swimming pool. There are pubs and clubs, bars and cafes, all pumping till the small hours of the morning.

Cairns Cinemas
Birch Carroll and Coyle is Cairns' only cinema situated in two locations. For the latest films visit City Cinemas, 108 Grafton Street and Central 6 Cinemas, Cairns Central Shopping Centre.

Cairns Bars
Bars tend to open earlier than nightclubs and close earlier. A lot of bars in and around Cairns serve food as well as drinks. A lot of bars also have regular live entertainment. There are a number of bars and places to go dancing including; Playpen International Night Club, The Reef Hotel Casino, Sports Bar Nightclub & Cafe, My Bar Karaoke, The Wool Shed Char Grill & Saloon Bar, Tropos, Cairns Rock & Roll Dance Club Inc, Ulysses Square Dancing Club Cairns, Club International, Club Trix, Fox & Firkin Bar & Bistro, Strait On The Beach, and Karaoke 101 to name a few.

Cairns Casino
The Reef Casino is probably the most well known entertainment venue, having a mix of restaurants, live entertainment and gaming. The Casino is located where the Esplanade meets Trinity Wharf and includes the five star Sofitel Reef Hotel Casino. 35 – 41 Wharf Street.

Cairns Clubs
Cairns has a number of sporting & service clubs which are open to visitors as well as members. Clubs always represent very good value for money with inexpensive drinks, value meals and more often than not live entertainment.

Dinner Cruises
A number of cruise ship operators offer evening dinner cruises along Trinity Inlet. Discover the delights of evening cruising . Cairns Theatre
The Cairns Civic Theatre is owned and operated by the Cairns City Council, and it has been presenting some of the best arts and entertainment available in Australia, since it was opened in 1974. More than 100 shows are presented at the theatre each year, ranging from local amateur shows to national and international touring extravaganzas. Whether your interest is in comedy, dance, drama, circus or another form of live entertainment, the chances are you can see it at the Cairns Civic Theatre. Cairns Convention Centre
The Cairns Convention Centre is the largest venue in Cairns. The Cairns Convention Centre is a world class meetings venue in the tropical paradise of Cairns, fringed by the Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage Rainforest. It is regularly used not only for conventions but also for major sporting events and concerts. It is centrally located at the Cnr Wharf & Sheridan Street.
